Employee Highlight – Chad Clemmer

When it comes to ensuring that the manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently, Chad Clemmer is the go-to expert. As the newly promoted Manufacturing Supervisor, Chad will combine his interest in technology, his experience with programming and semiconductors and a passion for problem-solving, to excel in his new role.

“My favorite part about what I do is being able to help out in multiple areas and not be confined to one thing every day. I like to learn numerous steps, multiple machines and everything there is to know about them. I’ve learned so much when it comes to programming on the machines.”

With over two decades of experience in technology, Chad brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to MJS Designs. His journey began with a keen interest in technology, studying computer programming in college. Although he realized that programming was more of a personal passion than a career path, he adeptly applied his skills to the semiconductor industry and later to manufacture medical devices, where he continued to hone and broaden his expertise. Chad first joined the MJS Designs team three years ago, quickly becoming a key contributor to the manufacturing team in his role as the Manufacturing Support Specialist.

As the Manufacturing Support Specialist, Chad managed and tested a variety of advanced machines, including the Selective Soldering Machine and 3D X-Ray Machine, while also helping in mechanical and overseeing shipping processes. Each machine demands a thorough understanding of its operations and meticulous programming to ensure flawless performance – challenges Chad met with expertise and readiness. His extensive knowledge of these machines has not only made him a go-to resource for training others but has also prepared him to transition smoothly into his new role. Chad’s hands-on experience and technical proficiency will continue to enrich his understanding of processes and workflow expectations as a supervisor.

“My favorite machine is the Selective Soldering Machine. It’s the most challenging because it has its quirks. Programming and operating it flawlessly is complex due to its idiosyncrasies”

Chad enjoys every day at MJS Designs, where each day brings new and varied challenges. He especially enjoys the opportunity to master different machines and tackle the unique challenges each one presents, with the Selective Solder Machine being a favorite of his. The complexity of running it correctly makes each successful operation a significant and rewarding accomplishment. Chad also takes great pride in being integral to multiple stages of the production process, contributing significantly to the team’s overall success. He values the supportive and motivating atmosphere at MJS Designs, which he finds both fulfilling and inspiring.

“Chad is incredibly mechanically inclined and detail-oriented, making him an asset to our team. His technical expertise allows him to not only learn new machines quickly but also improve their capabilities,” says Dawn Northrop, President of MJS Designs. “He consistently tackles the most difficult mechanical projects with confidence and precision. Once he masters a project or machine, he has a natural knack for training others, further enhancing our team’s skill set. He’s a go-to person for our manufacturing team, thanks to his ability to carefully read and interpret assembly drawings.”

When Chad isn’t programming machines at MJS Designs, he’s likely crafting candles for his side business, which he started a few years ago. He also enjoys spending time with his family, especially his niece and nephews.
