Her passion for maintaining and optimizing machines, paired with her leadership and problem-solving skills make her an invaluable contributor to the team. Whether she’s guiding her technicians, collaborating with customers or ensuring smooth operations, Dominique’s commitment to excellence shines through in everything she does.
“I love the environment, I love the people I work with, I love the new boards and the challenges as well as working on the machines and maintaining the machines. Fixing and putting things together is something I have a passion for. Doing this job fulfills that passion,” says Dominique.
Dominique began her journey at MJS Designs 18 years ago, joining the team as a surface mount technician (SMT) directly after graduating from college. Inspired by her mother’s interest in electronics, she pursued her studies at a technical school, laying the foundation for a successful career for close to two decades. During her early years at MJS Designs, Dominique gained invaluable hands-on experience by operating the machines and immersing herself in the intricacies of the production process. Her dedication and expertise earned her a promotion to SMT Lead, where she honed her leadership and technical skills before transitioning, six years ago, into her current role as Senior Manufacturing Technician.
As the Senior Manufacturing Technician, Dominique plays a pivotal role at MJS Designs, balancing a wide range of responsibilities that connect her with both internal and external teams. Internally, she oversees a team of technicians, ensuring smooth machine operations, setting schedules, developing procedures, troubleshooting issues that may arise and recommending improvements for the production line. Dominique is a major influence in the MJS Designs capital equipment road map. She attends conferences annually to stay up to date with the latest technology for electronics manufacturing and extensively evaluates equipment for future purchases. She also works directly with board assembly equipment manufacturers on installation and training for all new capital investments. Externally, she engages directly with customers, contributing her expertise in meetings, particularly when new projects are underway. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge make her an indispensable asset, not only to those that work directly on her team but for the company as a whole.
“I take pride in my knowledge. I know part of my job is being able to answer customer’s questions, giving the right answer, and helping people resolve issues. It feels good knowing that I helped fix or improve something. I’m also proud of the person I’ve developed to be and that I’m the go-to person that everyone enjoys” says Dominique.
One valuable lesson Dominique has learned as a Senior Manufacturing Technician is the importance of tailoring her communication to align with the unique learning and communication styles of others. She embraces these differences, adjusting her approach to connect effectively with a variety of personalities. Of all the things she appreciates about working at MJS Designs, Dominique values the atmosphere the most. She attributes this to the family-like culture and the collective effort of the team, which fosters a supportive, collaborative and stress-free environment.

Outside of her impactful work on the MJS Designs production lines, Dominique has a variety of interests. She loves traveling, with Thailand standing out as one of her most memorable trips. She also enjoys tapping into her creative side with her Cricut, along with other arts and crafts activities and party planning. Lastly, she enjoys spending time at the gym.
