Here are 10 certifications and qualifications MJS Designs maintains to always deliver on our promises to you.

Company Wide Certifications and Qualifications

As an organization, we adhere to the following standards to ensure top-notch customer service and satisfaction.

AS9100:2016 / AS9100D

This standard was introduced in January 2009 with the goal of dramatically increasing the On-Time and On-Quality Delivery standards in the Aerospace, Defense, and Space Industries.

Updated for 2016, the AS9100:2016/AS9100D standardizes the quality management system. It can be used at all levels of the supply chain by organizations around the world, to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.

ISO9001:2015

This ISO is often considered the ‘Father of Certifications’ for its broad, comprehensive requirements that seek to ensure that a firm meets its commitment to its customers and other stakeholders.

The 2008 standard was updated for 2015, and MJS Designs’ practices adhere to the new updated standard.

ITAR Registered

International Traffic in Arms Regulations

All manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense articles, related technical data and defense services as defined on the United States Munitions List are required to register with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).

While ITAR registration is required by any company working in defense services, ITAR alone does not assure quality. Quality is assured through the ISO certifications.

GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program)

GIDEP is a cooperative activity between government and industry participants seeking to reduce or eliminate expenditures of resources by sharing technical information. Through the sharing of data between government and industry, GIDEP reports that over $2.1 billion in the prevention of unplanned expenditures has been reported.

ANSI / ESD S.20.20-2014

This standard addresses the protection of electrical or electronic devices, whether for the civilian or military purpose. In short, this is the standard used to control electro charges in manufacturing. This standard is applied not only to the actual manufacturing plant but to many of the products used within the manufacturing facility such as smocks and floor paint.

MJS Designs Staff Credentials

Individuals within MJS Designs are credentialed in addition to our corporate standards. Here are the credentials individuals on staff maintain.

Recently, the Association Connecting Electronics Industries revised IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610, the two most widely used standards in the electronic industry to keep pace with the everchanging technology within the electronics industry. MJS Designs personnel have the most recent certification.

IPC-A-610G

Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.

The updated version or IPC-A-610G includes post assembly examinations for mechanical and soldering criteria. IPC-A-610G is a collection of visual quality acceptability requirements for electronic assemblies.

J-STD-001F

Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies

The J-STD-001 standard must be followed when building a product. The “F” update includes process control methodologies to ensure quality standards during the entire manufacturing process.

IPC/WHMA-A-620

Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies

IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnection and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies.

CID+ (Certified Interconnect Designer)

This certification comes from IPC Council for experienced PCB design professionals and CID+ is the advanced level certification.

PRO-STD-001 Certified C

Counterfeit Component Detection and Prevention

The PRO-STD-001 certification course and test are designed to train and educate the Military, DoD, OEM, Medical, and EMS sectors in the detection and mitigation of fraudulent or counterfeit components upon their receipt from suspect sources.

Before you turn your project over to any manufacturer, check credentials and certifications. Ask questions about the standards and requirements.  Members of our team have in-depth knowledge of government and industry standards, how they apply to our manufacturing niche and how they impact our long history of quality.
